Patience helps us get through times that we cannot change at the moment. Just as a blade of grass doesn’t grow faster if you pull on it – it can even break, which, metaphorically speaking, can hinder your entire healing process for HPU.

 

Why is it so difficult to trust the process and give it the necessary time to grow?

 

People with HPU are confronted with physical and mental limitations early in life. The metabolic disorder HPU usually develops from late childhood onward and causes us to think and feel differently than those without HPU. The variety and diversity of symptoms among those affected by HPU are significant. This is because every metabolism has different strengths and weaknesses, and no one can predict where in the body the system is most likely to be affected.

 

In one case, psychological problems arise, another suffers from a hormonal imbalance, and in a third, HPU manifests itself particularly in gastrointestinal complaints in connection with countless food intolerances.

 

When people with HPU start micronutrient therapy, it is difficult to predict where in the body the metabolism will first react. Consequently, the course of therapy is extremely varied and highly individual.

 

Given that most people with HPU have been suffering from a whole list of symptoms for many years and have already tried many things that have subsequently proven ineffective, it is easy to understand that patience and trust have been lost.

Feeling better in everyday life is a primary desire for many people with HPU. When you begin therapy for the metabolic disorder HPU, it is crucial to give your body “time” to correct the metabolic imbalance caused by years of micronutrient deficiencies.

 

Almost everything heals if you give the body time to heal:

 

HPU therapy typically requires at least four to six months to achieve initial noticeable results. During this period, the excretion of the so-called HPL complex (hemopyrrollactam complex) decreases, and the metabolism begins to normalize. Many symptoms resolve themselves as a result.

 

But beware: Every stressful experience further promotes the excretion of the HPL complex, making you feel worse. As someone with HPU, you should definitely keep this in mind and consider it throughout your HPU therapy. Regular stress management is therefore not a luxury for those affected by HPU, but an integral part of the treatment.

This isn’t about “constructive thinking,” which is objective, goal-oriented, and solution-focused and can certainly benefit HPU therapy. Rather, it’s about incessant rumination about the “problem” without seeing the solution or the goal. Often, feelings like fear, helplessness, or anger exacerbate stress in the body and thus intensify the increased excretion of the HPL complex.

 

Ask yourself what might happen if you have to wait longer for the HPU therapy to be successful than you hoped?

 

By answering these questions, you’ll examine the root of your fear more closely, instead of simply suppressing the feelings. Why does this scare me so much?

 

Furthermore, confronting the issue helps you to calm down and thus recover, which can help you let the negative feelings subside. Often you’ll realize that dire scenarios are unrealistic or can be balanced out by simple things.

 

More tips to redirect your negative thoughts:

  1. Try to reduce the flood of (negative) stimuli in everyday life. This means consciously filtering information from media such as television, radio, or the internet and focusing on your own well-being. Many (untreated) people with HPU share a personality trait: anxiety. And since anxiety inevitably creates stress in the body, we should take care to expose ourselves to as few bad news stories as possible.
  2. Pay attention to your posture in everyday life. With hunched shoulders, a drooping head, and downturned mouth corners, negative thoughts can take root more easily. Researchers have found that the opposite behavior releases endorphins – regardless of your current mood.
  3. Avoid thoughts that paint a negative picture of the outcome of HPU therapy.
  4. To help your body regain balance, you should also use the word “no” more often towards others and instead take time for yourself. Relaxation is an important catalyst for your healing and at least as important as the other four pillars of therapy (micronutrients, gut health, detoxification, and nutrition).

 

Your impatience regarding HPU therapy is understandable. By starting the therapy and focusing on small steps forward and improvements, you will learn patience and also regain trust in your body.
